In the third quarter of 2021, the top sandbox-like games on a unified platform in Europe displayed diverse trends in weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Data from Sensor Tower highlights the performance of these apps, providing valuable insights into their market presence.

Roblox from Roblox Corporation saw a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $3.9M in the week of August 23. Weekly downloads showed an upward trend mid-quarter, reaching approximately 789K in early August. Meanwhile, weekly active users fluctuated but generally remained strong, ending the quarter with approximately 34.8M users.

Minecraft by Mojang experienced a decline in weekly revenue, dropping from roughly $667K at the start of the quarter to around $484K by the end of September. Weekly downloads remained relatively stable, with a slight dip from around 272K in July to 216K by the end of the quarter. Active users also saw a downward trend, starting at approximately 6.2M and ending at around 5.2M.

IMVU: 3D Avatar Creator & Chat from IMVU showed a modest decline in weekly revenue, starting at approximately $88K and ending the quarter at around $85K. Weekly downloads remained mostly consistent, hovering around the 30K mark. Active users saw minor fluctuations, maintaining a stable user base around 470K by the end of September.

PK XD: Fun, friends & games from Afterverse Games showed a significant increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $69K in mid-September. However, weekly downloads declined over the quarter, starting at around 351K and dropping to approximately 202K by the end of September. Active users saw some fluctuations, peaking at roughly 3.2M in late July before stabilizing around 2.7M by the end of the quarter.

Growtopia by Ubisoft had relatively lower weekly revenue, fluctuating around the $20K mark throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads showed a slight downward trend, starting at approximately 5.2K and ending at around 3.5K. Similarly, active users experienced a gradual decline from around 50K at the start of the quarter to approximately 42K by the end of September.
